The Museo Nacional de Costa Rica and The Landmarks Foundation are actively collaborating with institutions and individuals who possess stone spheres to coordinate their homecoming. A revolutionary program, championed by the Government, rewards donors returning stone spheres in inventive and imaginative ways. The program seeks to positively recognize and show gratitude to individuals that return the stone spheres. It is an incentive-driven program. The methodology leading the mission requires no explanation as to how individuals acquired the sculpture - in hopes that a great percentage of missing stone spheres will be restored to the patrimony of the nation.

Compensation ranges from tax exempt value certificates, tax exempt donations, exhibits showcased at the park visitor center, acknowledgment on sculptures, walls, and name plates along park paths. Locally designed and crafted sculpture may be a means of substituting new for old and also as a gesture of appreciation. In addition, a documentary illustrating the unrivaled and groundbreaking approach and process of restoring the stone spheres and archaeological parks may incite owners to share their story and provide motivation for giving back their valued property. Each stone sphere, from largest to smallest, is a significant fragment of the entire ancient composition, thus the goal of the Museum and The Landmarks Foundation is to bring 100% of the stone spheres back to their native ground. In isolation and out of context, though dramatic and stunning, the stone spheres possess little significance away from their place of origin, apart from the setting in which their mystery, depth, and meaning are derived en masse.
