Military marker tablet (Michel Fortier) set in pavement at front. Colonel Michel Fortier (1750 - 1819) was Royal armourer and soldier, fought with Spanish under Galvez in capture of Manchac and Baton Rouge, LA from British. Became member of the first City Council.
