I was in Professor Tomlin's Costa Rica Studio in 2002. I was impressed by the democratic, creative, logical, evocative, and cooperative process (and a lot of conflicts, conceptual fighting, and negotiations for sure). As a Taiwanese student, coming from a relatively conservative society, I didn't get many chances to immerse myself in such a kind of educational process (although, to tell the truth, there are not many such chances in the USA either). I took his Studio again mainly because of the project itself. I cannot 100% know whether our efforts will work or not. However, I can only hope that this project can make the world a little better, or make me grow a little wiser....
