I decided to take this studio class this semester for a variety of reasons. Primarily, my studies will focus on indigenous cultures in the Americas, and this studio offered me the opportunity to learn more about the peoples of the Bolivian altiplano. Secondly, I was interested in the potential uses of GIS in Anthropology. While I only had a brief introduction to GIS this semester, it was enough to show me that this type of technology will be of great use for archaeologists and anthropologists in their research; I look forward to learning and using
GIS in my continued studies.
